Privacy Policy

Sterling Maple Corp. (“Sterling Maple”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information may be collected through sterlingmaple.ca, how that information may be used and disclosed, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

When you contact Sterling Maple through this website, we may collect information you choose to provide, including:

  • your name
  • email address
  • organization
  • telephone number
  • the type of inquiry you select
  • the contents of your message

Only your name, email address, inquiry type and message are currently required by the website contact form. Organization and telephone number are optional.

When you submit the Contact form, we may also process approximate city, region/province and country derived from your IP address, referring-page information, and campaign parameters such as UTM source, medium and campaign where present.

The website may also process limited technical information associated with normal website operation, such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps and server or security logs.

How We Use Information

Sterling Maple may use personal information collected through the website to:

  • respond to inquiries
  • communicate about projects, partnerships or business opportunities
  • respond to municipal, community or stakeholder questions
  • operate, maintain and secure the website
  • diagnose technical issues
  • understand website use where analytics have been enabled
  • meet legal, regulatory or record-keeping requirements

We seek to limit collection and use of personal information to purposes that are reasonable and appropriate in the circumstances.

Limited location, referral and campaign context may help us understand and respond to your inquiry.

Contact Form Submissions

Contact-form submissions are transmitted to Sterling Maple by email. The website is not designed to maintain a separate WordPress database of submitted contact-form messages.

Your IP address may be transmitted temporarily to the third-party geolocation service ipwhois.io solely to derive approximate city, region/province and country for inquiry context. The custom Contact form is not designed to store or retain the raw IP address in WordPress or include it in the notification email. The inquiry and resulting location, referral and campaign context may be retained in Sterling Maple’s email systems along with your submission.

Copies may nevertheless remain in Sterling Maple email systems, email backups, and hosting or security logs where applicable.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website may use cookies or similar technologies required for normal website operation, security or user preferences.

If Sterling Maple enables website analytics or other non-essential measurement technologies, those services may collect information such as device information, approximate location derived from IP address, referral information and interactions with the website.

Browser settings can generally be used to control or remove cookies. Disabling certain technologies may affect website functionality.

Service Providers

Sterling Maple may rely on service providers to support website hosting, email delivery, security, website administration and other business operations.

Those providers may process information on Sterling Maple’s behalf where reasonably necessary to provide their services.

Disclosure of Information

Sterling Maple does not sell personal information.

Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary:

  • to service providers acting on our behalf
  • to professional advisers where appropriate
  • in connection with a business or project transaction where legally permitted
  • where required or permitted by law
  • to protect the rights, safety or security of Sterling Maple, website users or others

Retention

Sterling Maple retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to legal, contractual, operational and record-keeping requirements.

Because contact-form messages are delivered by email, retention may depend in part on Sterling Maple’s business email and backup practices.

Safeguards

Sterling Maple uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Access and Correction

You may contact Sterling Maple to request access to personal information we hold about you or to ask that inaccurate information be corrected, subject to applicable law.

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.
